Our Slice of Heaven

The Hess Family has been farming this piece of Ashland County for more than 100 years. Four generations have worked the land and celebrated the harvest each fall. As any farmer will tell you, each year brings its own special mix of trouble and triumph. For us, that’s what makes farming so special.

The Hesses have been working with cattle for over 60 years, including 45 years in the dairy business, 20 years raising heifers, and five years with beef cattle. Since exiting the dairy business in 1997, the farm has raised alpacas. The 750 acres of fields produce yearly yields of soy, corn and wheat.
